The Copeland Neighbourhood Policing Team have taken action to stop a man’s criminal behaviour in west Cumbria.
A two year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) was secured at court yesterday (April 10) against Alan Kendrick, aged 47, of Peter Street, Whitehaven.
He was also sentenced to 24 weeks for:
- Three offences of theft from Morrisons in Whitehaven between 8 December 2023 to 15 January 2024
- One offence of theft from Home Bargains in Workington on 26 March.
- Three offences of theft from Tesco in Whitehaven between 19 and 20 March.
Kendrick has the following Criminal behaviour order conditions not to:
- Enter any of the shops on the Whitehaven Shop Watch Scheme or any shops displaying the Whitehaven Shop Watch Scheme logo.
- Enter any of the shops on the Workington Shop Watch Scheme or any shops displaying the Workington Shop Watch Scheme logo.
This Criminal Behaviour Order was a great outcome and is a useful tool to place restrictions on Kenrick to prevent further criminality and help protect business owners and local residents.
We would encourage anyone who witnesses the terms of such a court order being broken to contact the police immediately. The punishment for breaking the terms of a CBO can be up to five years in prison.
Anyone who witnesses Alan Kendrick breaching the terms of his CBO should contact the police.
