A road closure on the M6 remains partly in place whilst police continue to respond to a collision involving a pedestrian.
The south carriageway has now reopened with a lane three closure in place, however the M6 remains closed northbound between J41 (Catterlen Interchange) & J43 (Carlisle) and will remain closed most of the day, an update will be issued when reopened.
Officers were called to the incident at 8:06pm yesterday (Sept 14)
National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene providing assistance with traffic management.
Diversion Routes
Northbound traffic is advised to follow the solid triangle diversion symbol:
- Exit the M6 northbound at J41, and take the 4th exit on to the B5303 (signposted A6)
- At Stoneybeck roundabout, take the A6 northbound
- Continue straight on through Plumpton and High and Low Hesket
At J42 roundabout traffic is advised to follow the "Hollow Circle symbol"
- At J42 roundabout take the third exit onto A6 westbound towards Carlisle
- Turn right at London Road/Eastern Way traffic signals onto C1045 Eastern Way
- Turn right at Eastern Way/Warwick Road traffic signals onto A69 eastbound

Police are currently responding to an incident on the M6.
The M6 is fully closed northbound from J41 and full closed southbound at J42 and J43.
Officers were called to the incident at 8:06pm today (Sept 14)
The road may be closed for some time, drivers are asked to seek alternative routes.
