Cumbria Police have charged a man with possession with intent to supply after a traffic stop on the M6 yesterday (16 October).

Officers stopped the white Volkswagen Golf near to Junction 40 on the M6.

Around five kilograms of cocaine, thought to have street value close to half a million pounds, were recovered from the vehicle .

Anthony Ali, 42, of Fairfield Grove, Bradford has been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug – cocaine.

He is due to appear before South Cumbria Magistrates Court tomorrow ( 18 October).
