A Whitehaven man has had this Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) extended for two years

Lawrence Wilson, 36, of no fixed address had his order extended yesterday (June 4) after been sentenced for shoplifting.

Wilson has the following Criminal Behaviour Order conditions not to:

  • Not to enter any of the shops on the Whitehaven and Workington SchemeWatch or any shops displaying the Whitehaven and Workington SchemeWatch logo.
  • Banned from entering Spar on Main Road, Henisingham, Heron Food in Maryport, B and M in Maryport, Tesco Express in Maryport and Home Bargains on Derwent Howe industrial estate Workington

Community Beat Officer for Maryport PC Sam Steele said: “The extension of Wilson's Criminal Behaviour Order was a great outcome and will continue to be a useful tool to place restrictions on to prevent further criminality and help protect business owners and local residents.

“I would encourage anyone who witnesses the terms of such a court order being broken to contact the police immediately. The punishment for breaking the terms of a CBO can be up to five years in prison.”

Anyone who witnesses Lawrence Wilson breaching the terms of his CBO should contact the police.
