Another busy day for officers targeting drivers who are unfit to be behind the wheel.
Officers stopped a car at Killington Services on the M6 yesterday afternoon.
They could smell cannabis so conducted a drugs wipe test, which the driver failed.
The officers also found cannabis in the car.
The driver was arrested for offences including drug-driving and possession of cannabis. He was subsequently released under investigation.
Officers spotted a driver on their mobile phone in the Warwick Road area of Carlisle yesterday.
He was stopped and subsequently failed a roadside drug test for cannabis and was arrested.
He was subsequently released under investigation.
Officers stopped a driver at Tebay services, off the M6 yesterday evening. He failed a drugs wipe for cannabis and was arrested.
He has subsequently been charged after failing to provide a specimen for analysis whilst in custody. He was also charged with possession of cannabis.
He has been bailed to attend court next month.
Our officers responded to a road traffic collision in Bowness on Windermere in the early hours of this morning (15 April), where the car was on its roof.
Officers had reason to suspect the driver had been drinking. However, he refused a breath test.
He will shortly be receiving a postal charge for failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and a court date.
