Yesterday (24 April) we arrested a driver on suspicion of drug driving for the second time in 24 hours.
On Wednesday he was arrested for failing to provide a specimen for analysis and charged with that offence. He was bailed to attend court next month.
But officers stopped him yesterday, in Stonegarth, Carlisle, and he was arrested after failing to comply with a roadside test
He has been charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis. He was denied bail and will be before court today (25 April).
This is yet another arrest as part of Cumbria Police’s Op Spotlight – a road safety operation targeting the Fatal Four:
- Speeding
- Using a mobile phone at the wheel
- Not wearing a seatbelt
- Driving under the influence of drink and/or drugs
