Officers in Barrow are continuing to act on community concerns around drug supply and dangerous off-road bike use in Barrow Town centre.
Yesterday (17 February), two men, both aged 26, were arrested by officers from Cumbria’s Tactical Support Group after they were spotted on Duke Street in Barrow with an off-road bike.
One man was detained at the scene and arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, drug driving and other driving offences.
The other man, who attempted to make off from officers at the scene, was detained a short distance away and arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and possession of a controlled drug.
Both have been released under investigation while officers carry out further enquiries.
The bike was also seized due to it being over the wattage and propulsion size allowed.
Sergeant John Dilks, Barrow Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We know that off-road bikes being driven illegally and anti-socially is a real cause of concern and annoyance in our communities.
“As yesterday’s seizure shows, we are continuing to target those responsible for this behaviour and take these bikes off the streets for good.
“Anyone who has information regarding off-road bikes, or drug supply, should contact Cumbria Police so that our officers can investigate and act upon information received.”
